Second painting in the series “Ladies of Leisure.”
The jungle at dusk in a landscape with blending-in creatures behind the brush. It may be the most terrifying set-up. The muse, a blue tigress hiding behind the mask of a wolf. Orange flowers and two pair of yellow eyes are the steadfast voyeur. A white rising moon casts a mist over the whole scene. The glowing orb of the tigers’ vagina is shamelessly caressed. This nod to OUR modern culture explores the privilege we possess in the 21st Century to allow us fine pleasantries and extracurricular activities like internet browsing and gorge-watching TV shows.
Oil painting inspired by dark, romantic style with pop-art color qualities. Nature’s femininity is the cause of the painting, featuring a masturbating alligator as the muse and a neon-sign style Venus as a voyeur.
Inspired hugely by Henri Rousseau’s jungle paintings (although he had never seen the jungle and lived in France.) Also, an influence of “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli.
Artist Statement: Wild she-animals seek pleasure in the soft shift of sunshine to moonlight under jungle mist. Each voyeur has their own seat at the table of animalistic vaginal pleasure. A plethora of food and resources in the jungle results in hours of pleasure.
